Case Study - British American Tobacco Post Workshop Social

The brief

Create a social event for the staff of British American Tobacco to relax and unwind following a workshop.

What we did

Our office was contacted directly by British American Tobacco, who wanted us to host a social river cruise for their staff members. It would take place immediately after they had attended a workshop at a land venue, with around 150 employees set to be on board.

We were informed that the purpose of this event would be for the guests to relax, mingle and enjoy themselves after the formality of the workshop. Therefore, we suggested utilising a vessel from our fleet with a large outdoor deck.

As it was taking place in the summer, our team recommended the use of a barbecue on the deck, featuring fresh and seasonal ingredients. This was combined with relaxed background music, creating the perfect ambience and allowing those attending to chat and unwind.

Once the client was happy and a package was agreed, the Project Management team took over the organisation. Headed by our Senior Project Manager, Sapphire, they ensured that the finer details were all tailored to meet any specific requirements. They also provided more recommendations to further enhance the experience, which included team games, such as giant Connect 4, featuring on the deck.

End result

The weather was fantastic on the day, which meant the guests spent the majority of their time outside. The barbecue was a big hit and alongside the team games, helped create a relaxed and fun environment.

The clients were very happy and provided extremely positive feedback.

Client testimonial

"It was an absolute pleasure. The staff was very lovely and accommodating throughout the stay. The feedback I received from guests was great, so it was a success on every front!'
