Case Study - Google Team Building Event

The brief

The client asked us to create an event for 65 guests to thank their team for their hard work. They wanted us to incorporate some team-building activities into the day.

What we did

Sapphire, our Client Relationship Manager, arranged video calls to discuss the event with the client. They told Sapphire that they wanted to thank their staff for the hard work and use the opportunity to build bonds within the team with some team building activities. That’s when we put forward our professional coach who creates bespoke activities based on the group requirements and facilitated these on the event!

The event was then handed over to our Planning Team, headed by Eliza, our Senior Event Planner.

During this phase, we discovered that the attendees were a group of software engineers who enjoyed a bit of mild competition. We then set up a call with the team-building coach so they could set up some bespoke games. These included an ice-breaker game with questions to get the team talking to one another. The performance coach also devised another group game where the clients would work together to stack wooden blocks using different ropes.

During the planning phase, the client informed us that they wanted the event to have a nice, informal, social atmosphere, so we opted to go for the street food menu, which worked well on the day.

Finally, the group faced stringent limitations on the beverages they could order, so we implemented a system of drink tokens, which proved an effective solution.

The result

The team on the day consisted of Ellie (Event Manager), Phoebe (Event Coordinator), Eliza (Senior Event Planner and Pier Coordinator), Elijah (Head Catering Assistant), and Elizabeth (Catering Assistant).

The event went well, and the team-building exercises were particularly successful. We maintained a relaxed and social atmosphere, and all of the attendees remained engaged in the activities.
