What makes the perfect wedding reception on the River Thames?

Eliza is our in-house wedding designer at West End on the Thames. She explains what makes a good wedding reception on the River Thames.

Wedding days are among the most special occasions of a couple’s life. It is therefore crucial to build their trust through a personable service. This is something they will only do once and must be completely comfortable in your hands. I personally work alongside our designated events team and their dedication means they know every detail of the day inside out - which ensures everything runs smoothly.

The couple’s identity needs to be seen through every aspect of the design and the only way to achieve this is to work closely alongside them throughout the process. Understand and appreciate their vision and be adaptable.

For example, catering is hugely important and needs to be flexible to suit specific tastes - from canapes as guests mingle, to a more formal seated dinner. This is also true with entertainment, which is why I have a large and varied roster of options so I can always find the right tone.

There is no setting quite like the Thames for a wedding reception. It offers a romantic backdrop that is unrivalled, particularly when the sun is setting. Having that transition between land for the ceremony and then water for the reception, provides an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
